MODERATOR GUIDE

Moderators help keep Gabisness comfortable, safe, and functional when I can’t catch everything myself.

Mod isn’t a “higher membership tier” or a job where you need to police every message. It’s a trust role with a few extra tools for chat moderation, stream recovery, and saving good moments.

WHAT DOES A MOD ACTUALLY DO?

Keep the Community Comfortable

Step in for harassment, spam, personal information, obvious scams, knowingly underage viewers, or people repeatedly ignoring community boundaries.

Not every weird joke, disagreement, or awkward message needs moderation. The goal is to keep chat somewhere people can comfortably be themselves.

Help Keep the Stream Running

I can’t play a game, watch multiple chats, monitor OBS, listen to every audio channel, run TTS, and notice every technical problem simultaneously.

Mods have a few tools to fix obvious problems, stop malfunctioning interactive features, and mark moments worth finding later.

If everything is fine, just hang out. You are not expected to actively moderate every second you’re watching.

SOMETHING'S BROKEN — START HERE

CAN'T HEAR GAB

!audio mic unmute

Unmutes Raw Mic in OBS.

INTERACTIVE STUFF IS FUCKED

!stream panic and !stream restore

Disables supported TTS, viewer effects, and alerts, clears viewer queues, and stops Streamer.bot sound playback.

CAN'T HEAR THE GAME

!audio game unmute

Unmutes B1/Game Audio.

NOT SURE WHAT'S WRONG

!audio status

Checks the mute state of:

Raw Mic
B1/Game Audio
B2/Discord
B3/All Else

COMMANDS

These are the extra tools available to moderators for keeping the stream functional, marking useful moments, and handling problems when I can't immediately get to them.

🎧 Audio Control — !audio / !ac

Check Everything

!audio status

Reports the mute state of Gab's main OBS audio inputs: Raw Mic, Game Audio, Discord, and All Else.

Microphone

!audio mic mute

!audio mic unmute

Controls the OBS input Raw Mic.

Game Audio

!audio game mute

!audio game unmute

Controls B1/Game Audio.

Discord

!audio discord mute

!audio discord unmute

Controls B2/Discord.

Other Stream Audio

!audio else mute

!audio else unmute

Controls B3/All Else.

These commands are intentionally explicit instead of toggles. If Gab accidentally starts muted, "unmute" will always mean unmute.

🚨 Stream Control — !stream / !sc

Check Current State

!stream status

Reports whether TTS, viewer effects, and supported alerts are currently enabled.

TTS

!stream tts off

!stream tts on

Viewer Effects

!stream effects off

!stream effects on

Alerts

!stream alerts off

!stream alerts on

This only affects alerts configured to respect the moderator alert-control system.

Clear Viewer Queues

!stream clear

Clears pending Viewer TTS and Viewer Effects actions.

Emergency Stop

!stream panic

Disables supported TTS, effects, and alerts, clears their queues, and stops Streamer.bot sound playback.

Don't forget: once the problem is handled, use !stream restore to return the interactive systems to normal.

BRB

!stream brb

Triggers the configured BRB workflow when Gab can't do it personally.

📍 Twitch Stream Markers — !mark / !mk

Basic Marker

!mark

Creates a real Twitch Stream Marker at the current VOD position.

Example:
!mark boss fight starts

Clip-Worthy Moment

!mark clip [note]
Example:
!mark clip incredible boss kill

Creates a real Twitch Stream Marker labeled as a clip-worthy moment.

This does NOT create a Twitch Clip. Use !clip when you want Twitch to actually create a clip.

Funny Moment

!mark funny [note]
Example:
!mark funny Gab discovers gravity

Technical Problem

!mark issue [note]
Example:
!mark issue game audio disappeared

Private Editing / Mod Note

!mark note <text>

Saves a local note for later review. Unlike the other marker commands, this one does not create a Twitch Stream Marker.

🎬 Create a Twitch Clip — !clip
!clip

Creates an actual approximately 30-second Twitch Clip around the current live moment.

When Twitch successfully creates the clip, the bot returns its Twitch link in chat.

VIPs can use this command too.

Use !clip when something is obviously worth saving immediately. Use !mark clip when something should simply be easy to find later.

👀 Eye Tracker — !eyes
!eyes

Shows or hides the Tobii eye-tracker overlay.

The command controls the filter on the shared Tobii OBS source, so the change carries across layouts that reuse that source, including the vertical canvas.

Useful if the tracker is malfunctioning, badly calibrated, distracting, or Gab asks for it to be hidden.

🔞 Underage Viewer — !minor
!minor

Use the configured moderation workflow when someone directly identifies themselves as being under 18 in the adult community.

Don't interrogate people about their age or go looking for evidence.

This is intended for situations where someone has openly made their age clear.
